
Whilst the establishment religions pontificate on the evils of same-sex partnerships, it's refreshing to read that Druidism apparently has no such qualms.
On the day of the mid-Winter solstice 2005 two Druid priests, Philip Main and David Girvan (pictured right), pledged their troth before friends and family in a civil ceremony in Wrecsam without a single wicker man in sight. Dissapointingly though they didn't exchange gold torques, just boring old wedding rings.
So, what do Druids get up to on their wedding night? Perform fire-rituals at stone circles atop blasted heaths? Indulge in lustfull naughtiness in sacred groves? Maybe just cozy-up together in bed with a hot mug of mistletoe? According to the BBC:
"Mr Main is playing a wood elf and his partner is the Sheriff in the amateur production of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at Grove Park Little Theatre in Wrexham."Well, uh-uh then. Each to their own.
